Windfoil_About

Welcome to iwindfoil.com, a resource for beginners and intermediate windfoilers who are looking to improve themselves in this exhilarating sport. And for those advanced windfoilers who already know it all, well,I guess stick around anyway -- you might learn a few new tips. The mission of this website is to help windfoilers learn new skills as well as information, insight, and ideas.

Around 2019 or so, I discovered windfoiling after seeing Tony Logosz (Slingshot Gear Designer) soaring across the water on one of his new windfoil prototypes in Hood River, Oregon, where we both live. Naturally, I was curious, so to make a long story short, I acquired some gear and naively entered the water to begin the journey of learning something new.At first, it was just a natural extension of my love for windsurfing. But now, I can't get enough of the feeling of flying across the water with nothing but a foil and a sail.

Windfoiling can seem intimidating at first, and the crashes can be scary, but with some guidance, support from seasoned foilers, patience, and a willingness to learn, most windsurfers can learn this exciting new sport. On this website, you'll find some of the resources you need to get started with windfoiling, including step-by-step how-to tutorials, safety tips, and training drills.

So whether you're a beginner or an experienced windfoiler, I hope you'll find something of value in the how-to tutorials I have cobbled together. Come and join the other passionate windfoilers on the water and see all the euphoric smiles as they fly by.
